Williams King

Williams King

Registered TWHBEA / IPWHR

DOB:  04-27-1983  To  09-08-2002

He has gone on to forever green pastures on legs that won't fail him

Williams King was our gentle giant. Standing at 16+ hands, King was everything anyone could hope for in a stallion. He was beautiful, respectful and willing, with the correct walking horse conformation, and he exhibited a textbook 4-beat gait with the head shake that started from the shoulders all the way up!

To me, King just looked & moved like the old time walking horses that used to do it all. He's was bred to be a using horse and indeed we did use him for pleasure, trail riding, showing & breeding until retiring from breeding in early 2002 when he was 19 years old.

Williams King

Thankfully, he doesn't have any recent WGC's on his papers. As a 2 & 3 year old in TN, King was shown at several shows from The Strolling Jim Hey Day in Wartrace (he was the 3 year old, Lite-Shod Champion at that show & placed second in the over-all stake) to the Celebration and always placed. Then, soring the flat-shod horse became popular & competing sound was useless. King's owner/breeder refused to "fix" this naturally talented horse & pulled him from further showing. Competing sound against a sored horse is just plain going up against a cheater.

Williams King

King was a dream-come-true stallion. He taught me what a natural walking horse is suppose to be like & because of that, he will live within our hearts forever.
