Mountain Magic Farm
is located in the Cedar Creek Community of Greene County, Tennessee, south
of Greeneville in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. It's an easy 1
hr./15 min. drive from Knoxville, Tennessee, from Bristol, Tennessee, or
from Asheville, North Carolina.
The foundation of the farm
breeding program started about 25 years ago with stallion
Mountain Magic,
his pedigree tracing to Wilson Allen six times, to Hunter's Allen F-10 six
times, and to Merry Boy three times. Today, farm mares by Buds Sterling
Bullet grace the pastures where, within hours of birth, foals are
following mares across downed timber, across creeks, and encountering
deer, wild
turkey, flushing grouse, and the occasional black bear and Mr. bobcat.
These sure-footed, sensible offspring are virtually bomb-proof before
going under saddle.
The current herd stallion,
Sterling Elation, and the broodmares are natural-gaited, head-nodding,
four-beat walking horses with balanced conformation. The mares are bred to
produce greys and roans without sacrificing gait or other attributes. The
farms goal is to offer for sell quality weanlings and yearlings from
foundation-type bloodlines noted for being gentle and having common sense.
The farm breeding program produced Hunley's Delight who was foaled,
raised, and ridden in these mountains, and then ridden to become the 1994
World Champion Men's Amateur Trail Pleasure Racking Horse.
