This fine
Black Sabino stallion is courting the ladies at Northern
Foundations Farm. His pedigree includes Society
Man, 1943 Lite-Shod Jr. World Grand Champion, Sir
Maugray (from the breeding program of Jimmie Gray,
Belvidere, TN), the rare Red Eagle F-61 and Buford F-11
are two non-Allen bloodlines providing hybrid vigor to
his foals.
During the
summer of 2003, I had some time to research Star Gray's
background. I looked up Society Man and he had
many pages of production records so I started to go
through them all. I was quite surprised to find
out of all the sons he produced, only ONE, Paige's Black
Boy, had sons who had sons who are still in production
today. Of the Paige's Black Boy sons, only one son
has sons who are still in production, and that son is
Paige's Echo, the sire of my stallion. To
appreciate how rare this bloodline is when it comes to
an unbroken top line of males to carry on the Society
Man name, there are only six stallions out there in
production today, Echo's Star Gray Wilson being one of
them.

May 7,
2004 was the Minnesota Walking Horse Association's Early
Bird Show. We attended the show with Star Gray.
This horse is amazing! Star Gray has been in
training approximately 40 days now and he did very well
at this show.
He showed against veteran show horses and
took FIRST PLACE in Trail Pleasure Walking Horse - 2
gait - Optional Tack. We're very proud of Dena and
Star Gray!!
Star Gray
was trained by Dena Plendl of S&D Stables,
LeMars, Iowa and she has done very well with this horse.
We are proud of Dena and Star Gray!!

It's
unusual in this day and age to find a stud this young
with a pedigree that contains 30% Wilson's Allen
bloodlines, only ONE line on his pedigree contains
Midnight Sun. Dr. Bob Womack, on the video "A Look
Into the Past" says in his opinion Wilson's Allen was
one of the finest stallions of all times. His
offspring were very loose moving and naturally gaited.
Visitors
are welcome to come and meet Star Gray and his ladies,
scratch his ears, and think about pre-selecting one of
his foals. He has a wonderful disposition and has
settled in to being the babysitter for the weanlings as
the mares are out grazing in the pasture.

This
stallion lives in the pasture with his mares and foals.
He is a good protector of his ladies and foals but also
willingly accepts strangers into his pasture to visit
with the mares and babies.
This is a true
testimonial of his gentle disposition. |

He loves people, has great
conformation, a loose gait, and his striking color is
frosting on the cake! Visitors are surprised when they
meet this horse and discover he is a stallion because of
his gentle, quiet disposition.

Summer 2001 issue of The Gaited Horse in an article
