Proper English Attire

For Rider & Horse

English Riding Habit:
Which would be the Day Coat, this is a  knee length coat,
Jodhpur pants, Vest, & Tie.
Polished Shoes or Boots. Pants need tie-downs.
Gloves & Hat are optional

English Spurs are optional

Riders hair should be neat & well groomed. Long hair should be styled so that it not cover the riders back number.

English saddle, Standard Walking Horse show bridle with caveson & bit.
The bit shanks are not allowed to exceed 9 1/2 inches in length.

Shanks are measured from the very top of the metal to the very bottom of the metal, including the rings to which the cheeks & reins are attached.

Snaffle bits are allowed in English class & the entry will not be penalized for its use.

Whips no longer than 4 feet are permitted but are optional in:
English Pleasure, E-Z Rider, Model, TWH Over Fences, or when riding aside.

Whips of not over 6 feet are allowed in Pleasure Driving.

Braids shall be worn in English & halter classes, but not in western classes.

Martingales & tie downs are only allowed in: TWH Over Fences, Barrels & Pole Bending.

Rhinestone or sequined brow bands & caveson fronts are prohibited.

Approved leg protection such as:
Splint Boots, Skid Boots, Polo Wrap, or Non-Weighted Rubber Bell Boots are accepted as proper leg protection in:
TWH Over Fences, Barrels, Poles, Basic Reining, Trail Obstacle & Western Riding Classes.

Australian Stock Saddles are not approved as either English or Western tack.

Side saddles are approved equipment in flat shod & versatility classes.

Barefoot horses may be shown, however, judges must disqualify lame or tender-footed horses.

There shall be time out to replace a thrown shoe.

Entries shall be plain shod.

Hoof-bands & welded clips are prohibited.

Action devices & communication devices are prohibited.
