Welcome to Slush Creek Walkers!!

Slush Creek Walkers is a working cattle ranch located on the rolling plains of North East Montana. We are only 6 miles from the North Dakota border right on US Highway 2. We raise Tennessee Walking Horses, beef cattle, feed grains, hay. We are very proud of our breeding program and the horses we raise. Our goal is to provide good quality using horses.

First and most important is the natural gait, we don't use any mechanical/chemical "aids" to get our horses to do a running walk. They do it au' naturel from the time they are born. We also put a lot of emphasis on disposition. They must be calm, sane, and gentle to meet our requirements.

SCW is very pleased to announce that Slush Creeks Jubal S has been Heritage Horse certified along with several of our mares.

What is a Heritage Horse? The following is an excerpt from the Heritage Society web site.... "These breeders insisted that the horses they that rode and used regularly have smooth, natural gaits."

"A Heritage Walking Horse will trace back to horses with little or no breeding from padded sires and dams. The Heritage Walking Horse is an investment-quality horse!"

Slush Creeks Jubal S
Slush Creek Walkers Of equal importance was the traditional gentle disposition. These horses had to be athletes with good bones and correct conformation to tackle the steep hills and rocky terrain of much of Middle Tennessee.

The horses were and remain ruggedly handsome, with the luxurious manes and naturally high tail carriages that were considered the hallmarks of a fine-bred horse in the formative years of the breed.

Today's Heritage Tennessee Walking Horse descends from bloodlines that have been in families for generations, bloodlines bred for gait and sense, not show ring primp and fire.

Mark and I want to make sure that our buyers are happy and satisfied. We also believe that purchasing a horse is a "long term investment" and we want the next 20 years you spend with your Slush Creek Walking Horse to be the BEST 20 years.

SCW Bourbon Street Storm We imprint train our foals, they are trained to halter, load into a trailer, then they just get to run around being a horse for awhile. If there is something special you are looking for, let us know. If we don't have it maybe we can point you in the right direction or better yet Mother Nature will give us a "made to order"!

If you have any questions feel free to contact us and we will do our best to answer them. If you are ever in our neck of the woods, stop in for coffee and we will talk horses. Please take a moment to send us an email, we would really love to hear from you!
