Snowalker Stable

Snowalker Stable had it's beginnings
in the streets of suburban Chicago many years ago when my grandmother
would tell me stories of her Tennessee Walking Horse, Red. I grew up horse crazy. My parents wondered where I came
from.... not from them! I had several horses and ponies in my lifetime,
even a couple of Walking Horses, but had never had the ability to purchase
the registered Tennessee Walking horse of my dreams. All had been cast
off, unrideable, old or lame horses that no one else wanted. I rehabbed
and retrained all of them into well mannered, happy riding horses.

Many years later I found F88's Pearls and
Lace listed for sale in the Plantation Showcase. Pearl had Allan F-1
listed on her papers twice in the two generations of foundation horses
listed on the both sides of her pedigree. Pearl was linebred Merry Boy to
the degree of being equivalent to a direct daughter. Pearl was my horse.
We had no trainers or farriers capable of helping my horses to gait, I
knew she had to to be naturally gaited as well as tough enough to make it
through the North Dakota winters.
Our herd grew to include other naturally gaited, healthy, sound horses. In
1995 we purchased our first stallion, a flashy homozygous black tobiano
Versatility Champion,
Eldorado's Surprise. Surprise had a heart of gold, a true
running walk and a canter to die for. Two of his daughter's remain in our
herd: Sweet Sundae Surprise and
Pearl's Sassy Lace. |

Miss Golden
Girl, "Missy" a golden palomino, by The Gold Rush Is On from
Walker's West, became my daughter's light shod Versatility and pleasure
show horse when they were both 11 years old. Missy is now pushing 24 years
of age and still a favorite out on the trails when she is not raising
babies. This year she had her own colt, Too Much Sangria, by Too Much
Champagne, then adopted a Holsteiner colt, Charisma, a week later when his
dam died. Missy has a heart of gold and is never too busy to act as an
ambassador for the breed. We loved Missy so much that we bred Pearl to
Missy's sire and were rewarded with Tesuque Gold Rush, our junior palomino
stallion. Realizing that The Gold Rush Is On was in failing health, we
bred Dangerous Flaming Flicka to him, just before he passed away. Again we
were rewarded with more gold: Senorita Milagro De Oro (Miss Miracle of
Gold.) We are blessed to have three palomino offspring of The Gold Rush Is
On.
In 2002 we moved our stable from the frozen
heartland of America to the southern end of the Rocky Mountains in Santa
Fe, NM. I met and married my husband, Elliott Oppenheim, and together we
expanded our operation to include
Too Much Champagne.
"TMC" is a sire of many wonderful, naturally gaited pleasure and show
horses. One son,
Champagne High is a multiple titled world Champion stallion, another
son, Champagne Floyd was exported to Germany. TMC has also proven himself
to be a wonderful mountain-trail-pleasure horse. He is ridden with mares,
other stallions and gelding and is always the perfect gentleman
Recently we were blessed with the
opportunity to acquire
Tennessee Goldust
from Amanda and Chuck Pitsch of Pitschfork Acres in Marne, MI. Goldust
will be an excellent out cross for our horses as well as most others in
the breed. He has no Midnight Sun Or Merry Go Boy and has more crosses to
Hunter's Allan than to Wilson's Allan. Goldust is a well proven sire of
many great show and pleasure horses. I have had the opportunity to work
with several Goldust offspring over the years and have always loved how
easy they were to train and their wonderful personalities.

We also stand
Tesuque Gold Rush.
He is not only a beautiful palomino but is one of the few
stallions standing in America with foundation blood on his
papers.
